(LOS ANGELES) – A Phoenix resident who challenged the denial of services by a Texas auto-loan aggregator has reached a confidential settlement agreement with the company.
The 2024 lawsuit challenging the policies of Innovative Funding Services, doing business as Tresl Auto Finance, was filed by MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) on behalf of Deyra Pamela Carranza Aguilar, a recipient of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The case was resolved on mutually agreeable, confidential terms. MALDEF attorneys argued that Aguilar was prevented from applying for a car loan because of her immigration status. Tresl denies all allegations brought in the lawsuit.
