Parent School Partnership (PSP) Program
Since 1989, MALDEF’s Parent School Partnership (PSP) Program has empowered parents and community leaders throughout the nation to become change agents in their communities. The PSP program provides them with the tools necessary to become effective advocates in improving their children’s educational attainment.
Graduates can now stay in touch with PSP through our quarterly newsletter and read about current activities, feature stories, trends in education and opportunities to continue to be an active member in the program.
MALDEF currently offers PSP programs in the greater Los Angeles area in California, in Atlanta, Georgia, and in several cities in Illinois, including Chicago, Elgin, and Waukegan.
MALDEF is part of this diverse coalition of national organizations representing communities of color that believe high schools should have the capacity and motivation to prepare every student for graduation, college, work, and life.
For more information on MALDEF’s PSP programs and training information, please contact the office nearest you. For general matters, please contact our National PSP Program Office.

After parents graduate from our 16-week programs, they are invited to participate in alumni activities to continue developing their leadership skills, to practice their advocacy skills, and to increase their knowledge on education and other topics they might be interested.
